Historic Graceada Park Modesto

Located just over 6 miles from the Fairfield Inn Modesto Hotel, is the Historic Graceada Park Modesto. Click here for an interactive Google Map to Graceada Park Modesto from the Modesto Marriott Fairfield Inn.

Graceada and Enslen Parks were designed as one park, with Graceada identified in planning stages as the "panhandle" and Enslen the "pan." The name Graceada comes from the first names of the wives of the families that donated the land for the park - Grace Beard and Ada Wisecarver. Putting the two names together makes Graceada.

In 1906, the only park in Modesto was at the Courthouse at 11th and I Sts. The park was small and although it was a community gathering site, it lacked many features that were desired by the citizens of Modesto.

Today the tennis courts, strolling paths, arbors and the rose garden as well as the children’s play areas and fountains are what attract visitors to the park. There is something for everyone to enjoy. So spend a warm day walking through the park or watching the kids at play, and don’t forget to check out the majestic trees all throughout the park!
